My neighbourhood - Aajt Hier near Maastricht

Under the smoke of Maastricht lies a former little farmer village. Since the 70's this village "Heer" is part of Maastricht. Since then the village became much larger, but still "Old Heer" ( Aajt Hier ) has the charm of the old days. Originally from Maastricht, I'm living now in Heer since 1980 and I love it.

Dog from the Restaurant

Just trying what I can do with this dog, sketching right in Photoshop.

 

 

"Restaurant" - a float design

I suddenly rememberd a cute dog I did drawn in 2010. Here is that drawing, a children's resatuarant made as a float design for a parade.

You can see the dog on the left side of the table, hiding under the table cloth.

Drawing on the computer

It's really nice to draw and paint on the computer. I work with Photoshop, but I'm thinking to install Painter again and try to get more familiair with it. Maybe there are more possibilities with that programm, but I think it's rather complicated.

Bird Sketching

I did some bird sketching this morning. It is a Eurasian Blackcap ( Sylvia Atricapilla ) which I all didn't know. In plain Dutch it's just a "Zwartkop".

I have a lovely life model...

Sonny in color

I finished the drawing of Sonny in his red car.

It is always a difficult moment to decide whether a drawing is finished or not. That counts for sure for digital drawing, as you can zoom in to change or erase at pixel level. When you are a person that wants things perfect, you have a problem.

I recently made this drawing of a little boy in his Mini Cooper.

The inspiration I got from my steph grandson Sonny, here in the car with his dog Menzo.

I scanned the scetch and now I'm painting it with Photoshop.
